Emma Niven
Emma Niven is Inspirational Director at award winning, family-run, Loch Leven’s Larder, Kinross.
Originally from Yorkshire, raised on her family’s dairy farm, she was brought up appreciating the importance of good quality food as well as a farm to fork approach.
Emma moved to Scotland shortly after meeting her husband, Rob, where they took over the running of the family’s vegetable farm. In 2005 Emma established Loch Leven’s Larder, realising that there was no local outlet to sell or serve her family farm’s quality produce.
Over 16 years later, the Larder is now an established world destination with 2 cafés, foodhall, butchery, bakery, deli and retail shop, with views over Loch Leven. The Larder is well known for supporting and promoting small local producers.
Emma has grown Loch Leven’s Larder from a small café and vegetable stall to one Scotland’s leading farm shops. She remains true to her roots and original goal of promoting local produce and is passionate about Scotland’s food and drink sector.
