Jo McNicol
Formally a Primary School teacher, Jo left her career behind in 2012 to concentrate on new beginnings with her husband Stuart and two children on their arable family farm in East Lothian.
Inspired by an upcycled shipping container used for serving tea in Bristol, a love of food and drink and the opportunity to open up amazing views to Fife and the Bass Rock, she helped create, and bring their coffeehouse Drift to life, in the summer of 2018. Starting with coffee and cake, she has successfully grown this agritourism business to meeting their vision to create a visitor destination with a focus on fresh, seasonal, Scottish produce delivering on flavour but always with a point of difference. With plans to extend this vision to include a permanent event space on the farm, the future looks very bright.
