Rachel Gambro

Rachel runs the Mixing Bowl Aberdeen and has championed both the Deeside Local Food Festival and the Deeside Food Hub as well as worked with Aberdeen University on their May Festival Maker’s Market. In addition, she is also working on the Rural Food Tourism Places project in Shetland.

In 2015, the Deeside Local Food Festival was launched as part of Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink, and it grew very rapidly over the years. It was designed to celebrate and showcase the large number of talented producers from within Aberdeen City and Shire through talks, tastings, demos, workshops, producer film and market.

During lockdown, the Deeside Food Hub was born and as an online local food market it continues to offer customers the opportunity to purchase very locally produced food and drink as well as offer producers a valuable promotion and distribution network in the community.
