Sarah Heward
Sarah founded The Real Food Café in Tyndrum in 2005 which now serves over 250,000 visitors per year. It has won numerous awards including the 2020 National Thistle Award for Best Informal Eating Experience and is established as a well-respected Scottish hospitality brand.
Prior to this, Sarah was MD of Corney & Barrow, expanding their wine-bar operation to 13 City of London locations. She also sat as a Non-Executive Director on the Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers. She currently chairs the Tyndrum Infrastructure Group, whose goal is to improve rural infrastructure in Tyndrum and beyond. Recently, she featured in VisitScotland’s responsible tourism advertising campaign, promoting local food and drink.
Sarah has worked on many hospitality and food related collaborations, resulting in The UK’s Fish & Chips with a View Guide, Gluten Free Fortnight and the finishers food tent at The Highland Fling.
In recognition of her achievements, Sarah won the prestigious NatWest Everywoman ‘Athena’ Award in 2014.
To relax, Sarah loves walking her dog, cooking and training for ‘IronMan’ triathlon events.
